The evening at Dawat Ghar, Hubli was unusual on Saturday August 21st . Students cutting across the bindings of communities had gathered for IFTAR PARTY organized by the Students Islamic Organisation of India, Hubli unit. Speaking on the occasion Br. Sayed Kazim, Regional Secretary SIO south Karnataka, stressed that the best way to bridge the gap between different communities is that we come nearer, know each other and join hands for common good. “The importance of Holy month of Ramazan is solely due to the fact that Quran was revealed in this month by the creator of this universe for the whole mankind”, he said. Further lamenting he said that, it is the biggest misconception that Quran is a religious book of Muslims only. Whereas in reality it’s the guidance from the creator of whole mankind to the mankind.
There was indeed a festive mood among students.“It was wonderful, I attended such a programme for the first time and it will be memorable”, said Veeresh, a student of KUD. “The programme was excellent and it’s the need of hour that youngsters like us come closer and try to understand each other. Next onwards I will also be a part of such programmes” told an enthusiastic Manjunath of Nehru college.
The programme, which was followed by dinner, had separate arrangements to satiate the carnivorous as well as herbivorous cravings of the delegates. “We have been organizing such combined iftar parties since four years, and response of students is euphoric” said Sadaqat Mulla, PR secretary SIO Hubli. The programme is a part of our social commitment and our claim that SIO believes in constructive and overall development of student community, observed senior member Shoukat Ali. The programme was attended by large number of students. SIO city president Dawood sheikh, Secretary Muzammil Mulla and others were present.
