The former Director of the Department of Technical Education Muhammed Ali on Sunday told students to look for career options in fields other than engineering and medicine.
He was speaking at a function to felicitate meritorious Muslim students organised here by Hubli units of Students’ Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
Mr. Ali said there were several vocational courses that would help them get jobs early. He told Muslim students to take up short-term vocational courses or add-on courses that would make them more “employable”.
Member of the Central Advisory Council of SIO of India Hasamatullah Khan underscored the need for redefining and restructuring education so that focus was on moral education.
Muhammed Abdullah Javed, president of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Karnataka and Goa, said education without a good character was of no use.
President of Anjuman-e-Islam Muhammed Yusuf Savanur lauded the initiative of SIO of India and said Anjuman-e-Islam would join hands with it to promote good practices among Muslim students and help them.
Sixty meritorious students from Hubli were felicitated on the occasion.
The Moulana Abul Alam Moududi Award (for the highest scorer in Urdu in SSLC examination) and Dr. S. Ahmed Award (for city topper among Muslim students in SSLC examination) were presented to Sana Kousar Yadgiri and Asaf Ali Kammar, respectively.

Education for Change










Hubli: SIO hubli had conducted awareness servey at Patil Galli of Yellapur and at Anand Nagar, as the part of educational awareness campaign. Around 400 houses were been serveyed as part of the educational awareness campaign and showen the importance of education to the people. Br Zameer Ahmed, organisor of the campaign inuagrated the servey by a corner meeting and stressed the need of education and to play the pivotal role in the national development. He also appealed the elite section of the society to take care of educational need of under previlaged children.
